KATHI SNIDE
head trainer
Kathi Snide grew up in Maine, where she started working with horses at three years old. She has now been teaching horses and their riders for 20+ years. Her past merits and employers include: Highbrook Horse and Harness; Westhill Farm in Putney, Vermont; Head Trainer and Barn Manager at River's Edge Stables; Interscholastic Riding Coach and Trainer at Dartmouth; Trainer at Magnolia Equestrian Center in New Orleans. Kathi also worked as a stunt rider in the 2014 movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
She has shown extensively all over the Northeast in shows such as the Vermont Summer Festival and Wellington in addition to various others. In her spare time, she enjoys talking about horses, hanging with her students, and spending time with her dog Lizzie and two awesome grandkids.
DOMINIQUE BARBEE
assistant trainer
Dominique Barbee began working with horses in New Orleans when she was nine years old. She has been riding with her trainer Kathi Snide since 2012. She specializes in hunter/jumpers, and she is known around the barn as the grooming queen. She has shown throughout Southeastern Louisiana and successfully competed at the Greater Oklahoma Hunter Jumper horse show.
In 2019, she graduated from Lawrence University in Wisconsin. She is currently an M.F.A student and teaching assistant at the University of South Carolina.
JIM & KATHLEEN BARBEE
owners
Jim and Kathleen Barbee are the owners of Beauty Way Farms. They purchased the farm in 2014 and since then have made many major improvements on the property. Both Kathleen and Jim were born and raised in southern Louisiana.
